DK Weight Yarn

Get your hands on our sheep! Here you will find all Mitchell Wool Co yarn that is DK weight.

  • Sheep to skein - farm grown in Dryden Michigan
  • knits up at 5.5 sts/inch using a size 6 needle
  • 22 sts = 4"/10cm
  • Crochet hook G 6.
  • 3 ply woolen spun
  • dyed on the farm using natural plant matter

Of course it's a good rule of thumb to swatch first. Individual working styles may make gauge vary.

Our DK weight yarn is 3 ply woolen spun locally at a fourth generation family owned mill. This keeps our carbon footprint small and supports local community. If dyed, it is created using only natural botanicals and is crafted by the hands of Cindy and Sherry right here on the farm. Our yarn is NEVER superwashed. Care for it by handwashing like the heirloom it is.
