Know your wool.

Know their names. The lives they lead. The family who cares for them. Sheep to skein in the truest form. The planet doesn't need more stuff. It needs better.

We got into this circus because we had rolling pastures that were dying from unuse. Sherry dreamed of a biodynamic farm that would eventually bring our soil back to life. Where chickens cluck about with our fine wool sheep. Heritage breeds of livestock coming back from the critically endagered status a few at a time under our careful stewardship. Ducks who control flies and pigs that rototill. A beautiful soup of diverse animal poops that would nurture our land back into green health. Kids that run wild in the safety of acres of land and who learn to respect the planet by directly caring for it.

Not a pipe dream, but a WOOL dream.

Skeins raised with love from the day the lambs are born. Each soul with a name. Nurtured by Luke. Who left a career in law enforcement to live a wholistic existance closer to his family. Colors dyed exclusively from nature and no plastic or petroleum to be found (beyond the tank of our farm truck). Working together as a family, supporting the community.

Growing something that MATTERS.

Sherry's Sweater Bag

the coveted project tote everyone wants - handmade by Cindy on the farm Sweater Bag
Gladys, a freshly shorn Finn Sheep stands in the stall door serenely looking out at Farmer Sherry as she snaps the photo. Her blissful look is evident of the life that she leads in rolling green pastures with a family that loves her dearly.

Farm to Skein - what's that?

For Familys Sake

Living the life of a farm kid is idyllic. It means you run filthy & free range to your hearts content. That you know exactly where babies come from, where your food comes from and the full life cycle including death. You have responsibility to the animals, your family and the planet. It's a rather nice way to grow kind humans.

Cormo

The Cormo was developed in Australia in the 1960s by crossing Corriedales with the exceptional Saxon Merino. The result is a hornless sheep that produces a large yield of very dense yet soft fleece. Our flock has an average micron count of 21.25 yielding a superfine next to skin experience. Available in DK and Worsted weights, both are 3 ply woolen spun for beautiful stitch definition. Meet Dolly Parton, she's our Cormo poster girl!

Farm Friends

Our Farm Friends yarn blends the natural colors of our Finn Sheep & Annie, our rescued Shetland. They are our original pet flock, including Gladys, RBG, Rosa Parks & Minnie Purl, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. The gorgeous tweedy yarn beautifully blends the soft Finn locks with our targhee/Finn and Annie's cinnamon Shetland wool. For 2022 we offer it in 3 ply Aran weight as well as 2 ply DK. Both are woolen spun and knit into a soft Irish tweedy finish that feels utterly raw and delightful in the hand.

Targhee

Named for the Targhee National Forest, they are an American breed developed in the 1900s in Idaho. This fine wool - dual purpose breed was created by crossing Rambouillet, Corriedale & Lincolns. Our flock has an average micron count of 19.93 and are the most outgoing of all our sheep! The next to skin softness has a great bounce in the 3 ply woolen spun yarn. Available in both DK and Worsted weights. Shown here is Karen, her best friend is Bertha.
