Interested in learning more about one of the real workhorses on our farm, then our Pigs 101 class is for you!  Pigs play a vital role in our silvopasture and we want to teach you about it.  In this one day intensive you will learn: 

• history of farming pigs
• pig classification (sow, gilt, boar, barrow, piglet)
• natural pig behavior (intelligence, tolerance of cold, senses, socialization)
• the lifecycle of a market pig 
• gestation
• farrowing
• nursing
• bread varieties 
• how pigs fit into our regenerative farming system (silvopasture)
