Our Farm Friends DK weight is a 2 ply woolen spun yarn made from our original pet flock. It includes the fiber of our FinnSheep Minnie Purl, Heidi, Olaf, RBG and Rosa Parks as well as our Leicester girls. The blend of their long lustrous fiber with the natural long wool locks of the Leicesters makes a lovely tweedy yarn that feels Irish in nature.

(Our critters consume 14 bales of locally grown hay per day from October - May when our pastures are resting. Your support puts hay in the barn and employs both the Mitchell team and the local hay grower.) 

It doesn't get closer to the sheep than this! Never superwashed, our RAW yarn in this collection is straight from the sheep with just gentle washing. It is ready to enjoy natural, or to accept mordant for your own natural dyeing efforts. Spinning oils from the mill have been removed using plant based laundry soap. It's soft and bouncy and ready to sink your happy hands into!
